Database optimization — AWS RDS / MariaDB Link to heading

Multi-channel media platform (65 radio stations, 460,000 monthly sessions) running on a MariaDB database hosted on AWS RDS (db.m7i.xlarge — 4 vCPU, 16 GB), used by every service: public site, editorial back-office and custom API (Drupal), mobile app. The Drupal-imposed schema is non-trivial and far from optimal — a constraint of the foundation, not a team choice. April 2026, three weeks total.

Lyon | Since 2024

Technical lead of a 3-developer team, responsible for the architecture of a multi-channel media platform: public site (Nuxt), editorial back-office (Drupal), mobile app, API, AWS infrastructure.

Orders of magnitude: 65 local radio stations broadcast, 460,000 monthly sessions, 150 back-office journalists, around ten microservices. Production release every two weeks for four years.

My role spans every layer of the system: architecture diagnosis and trade-offs, performance optimization (database, API, front-end), integration design, data migration. I work on an existing production system: I understand it before I change it, and I measure the impact of every change. The work below details a few concrete cases — context, decision, result.

Master’s degree in Computer Science — “Web and Information Technologies”, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (2022). Specialization: complex web architectures and data management.
One-year apprenticeship at RCF during the Master’s, then hired in 2022.

Operations: DNS, TLS certificates, local nginx. The cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes on AWS, Redis, RDS, EC2) is run by a DevOps provider.

Before and alongside engineering, concrete leadership responsibilities: leading teams, people’s safety, project and budget management. The same stance as in my technical work — understand the context, decide, own it.

Scouts et Guides de France (2012 → 2017) Link to heading

BAFA trainer: 4 one-week sessions — designed and ran workshops and discussion time to train young leaders, with specific support for future camp directors.
Youth camp direction (ACM): directed 4 scout camps — responsible for the physical and moral safety of minors, application of the educational project, administrative management.
Team leadership: coordinated teams of 4 to 7 leaders.
International solidarity (Haiti, 2012): designed and ran a one-month project in Hinche, in partnership with the Haitian Scouts — logistics, budget, intercultural relations.

Compagnies d’Armes de Lyon (fencing, until 2018) Link to heading

Software development: a custom Symfony application to manage the club’s registrations — internal needs analysis, automation of the membership process.
Teaching: volunteer instructor (sabre and épée) supporting the Fencing Master.
Refereeing: official regional referee (sabre, épée) in federal competitions.
